HyBridge® Evolution

The next generation of our signature lightweight down collection is here.

These lightweight down jackets are intelligently designed with Thermal Mapping, ensuring warmth where you need it and breathability where you tend to overheat. New for the FW19 season, we’ve introduced a Channel Weave technique for a more seamless construction and appearance. They’re also now made with a lighter fabric and more stretch for increased mobility. Reflective hits have been placed 360 degrees around the body for increased visibility in low light conditions, perfect for the early morning or early evening commute.

Live In
The Open

Welcome.

That’s how expedition guide Jiayi Zhao feels in the Arctic. It’s why she cried the first time she saw a polar bear, walking out on the edge of the sea ice. “It was the bear’s land, and I was just a visitor, but I felt welcome,” she says. It’s a transformative feeling she now works to pass on to the groups of tourists she leads on expeditions to the North. “The Arctic changes your actions,” she explains. “It changes the way you see things, the way you touch things, the way you speak to people.”

And although the Arctic feels like home to her, Jiayi is actually based in the big city she was raised in: Beijing, China. In her 20s, she began to feel like something was missing from her life. And then, while on a trip to California’s Redwood forests, she got a chance invitation to lead a Mandarin-speaking tour group to one of the poles—and ever since then, she’s devoted her life to sharing remote, wild places with other people. For Jiayi, being a guide is not so much where she takes her guests or what they do. It’s what the people she guides do with their experience when they get home. “As a guide, I hope to lead people to explore their life—not the journey we’ve taken them on, but the journey onwards.”

On every trip she leads, Jiayi works to create moments of stillness, where people are just quiet, alone with themselves in nature. She does this because she knows how such snapshots in time have transformed her own life.

“I have a vivid image of myself standing in a Beijing metro station feeling the crowd rushing home and just having a sense of feeling centered and present,” she explains. “I think that’s what nature has nourished in me.”

By living openly, expedition guide Jiayi Zhao is finding greatness in herself—and helping others find it too.
