In 2003, Marilyn Hofman was in Churchill, Manitoba—less than 1000km from the Arctic Circle—and working as a medivac flight nurse. One afternoon, she set out to explore the frozen tundra. Halfway out on the Churchill River, Marilyn ended up testing more than her appetite for adventure: she fell through to the ice and into the frozen depths below. After a ten minute struggle, she pushed herself onto an ice ledge and a companion was able to pull her from the water using the grab strap at the back of her Snow Mantra parka. “I was extremely fortunate. When I first fell through the ice, my parka buoyed me up, preventing my head from going under,” she says. “I would have been in a great deal more trouble had it not been for my Canada Goose Snow Mantra parka.”
